What is the West?

The West is a collection of civilizations, historically in Europe, with a history spanning several millennia. The Western world comprises numerous languages, cultures, and societies. From ancient history until today, there is a rich continuity.

Democracy, liberty, freedom of choice, can all be traced to roots existing thousands of years in the past. With golden ages and dark ages, the West developed unique ideas and technologies which enabled it to explore and dominate much of the world. This gave rise to new Western civilizations in America, Canada, Australia & New Zealand, and in parts of South Africa.

Fundamental to the West, is its people. They are independent, ingenious, enterprising, and overwhelmingly White.

02

Race, ethnicity and White identity

White people comprise a wide array of cultures, languages, traditions, and histories, each unique and worthy of recognition.

We use White to refer broadly to people of European ancestry. That includes many distinct ethnic groups: English, Irish, French, German, Polish, Greek and others. Their differences matter. So does their shared history.

Race, ethnicity and nationality describe different things. Ancestry concerns descent. Ethnicity involves shared origins, culture and identity. Nationality concerns membership in a nation. A serious discussion should be clear about which it means.

Race and White identity are legitimate subjects of historical and demographic research. They can be examined through population records, migration, ancestry, culture and the experiences of particular communities.

Our research examines race, ethnicity, ancestry and demographic change. We present the underlying data and analysis and formulate pro-Western positions driven by evidence.

03

Research with a purpose

We are a pro-Western organization. We pursue research and, ultimately, policy that advances Western values and interests.

Public policy has consequences. It affects the safety of our communities, the cost of government, the character of our societies and the freedoms we pass to our children.

Our purpose is to investigate those consequences and put the evidence where people can examine it.

04

What we investigate

Immigration. Crime. Demographics. Religion. Public spending.

What do policies cost? What outcomes do official records show? How do results differ between countries, populations and generations? What information are governments publishing, and what remains unavailable?

We bring together data, reports, source documents, visual media and analysis that would otherwise remain scattered across the internet. We present the essentials clearly while preserving the underlying material for anyone who wants to examine the record in full.

05

Show the evidence

A strong claim should survive scrutiny.

Readers should be able to follow our findings back to their sources, examine the calculations and understand how we reached a conclusion. Where a figure is estimated, the assumptions should be visible. Where information is missing, the gap should be identified.

06

Preserve the record

Information disappears, servers go down, webpages are deleted, and documents and evidence get buried or lost. Dead internet theory is real. And AI will increasingly make the internet a worse place for accessing and storing information.

We are building a permanent public archive to protect the record from deletion, deterioration and censorship. Our goal is to preserve access and reduce dependence on any single search engine, AI system or technology company.

Our mission is to be a central, lasting source of evidence and analysis on the political developments shaping the West—freely accessible to everyone.
